- Gesudaraz, Saiyed Muhammad Husaini
- (1321-1422)Gesudaraz, a disciple of the Chishti saint Nasir al-Din Chiragh, came to Gulbarga from Delhi in 1402-1403 and established his hos-pice in the vicinity of the royal fort. The reigning sultan, Taj al-Din Firuz Shah Bahmani (1397-1422), began to doubt Gesudaraz' in-tellectual credentials, which obliged the latter to move away from there.M'araj-ul 'ashiqeen (Ascent to Heaven of Devotees), the ear-liest text written in Dakkani, is ascribed to him.
